The number of licensed programs in New Hampshire has declined 25% in the last 15 years. Between 2001 and 2015, 305 programs closed. Over the same period, the licensed capacity of programs has increased 34%, from an average of 38 children to 51 children per program.
It should be noted that program size increases are not necessarily distributed in the same geographic areas as the closed programs.
